Our Institute commenced postgraduate education and training activities under Law No. 2547, in accordance with Article 6 of Law No. 2809, with the decision of the Council of Higher Education Executive Board dated November 9, 1999. Students were admitted for the first time in the 1999-2000 academic year.

As of September 19, 2025, 29 thesis-based master's programs, two non-thesis second-year master's programs, and 18 doctoral programs were open in 28 departments. As of September 19, 2025, our Institute had a total of 323 students: 245 master's and 78 doctoral students. Most of these doctoral students completed their graduate education at our Institute.

Since its establishment, a total of 793 students, including 632 master's and 161 doctoral students, have successfully completed their graduate courses and theses.

Efforts are underway to open doctoral programs in departments that do not already have doctoral programs, to increase the number of joint postgraduate programs with other higher education institutions in Turkey, and to conduct mutual student mobility with foreign universities under the ERASMUS program.

Our Institute is a member of ORPHEUS as of January 2025.
