ABOUT OUR FACULTY

  The Faculty of Education was established on February 16, 1999, by Decree No. 99/12444. Initially, it was founded with 5 departments-Primary Education, Educational Sciences, Foreign Language Education, Turkish Language Education, and “Computer and Instructional Technologies Education- and 3 divisions, all of which were set up without students.  As a result of joint efforts by the Higher Education Council and the Ministry of National Education, Faculty of Education programs were restructured to train teachers with the qualities and quantities needed by the Ministry of National Education. Within this new structure, the Faculty now has a total of 8 departments and 26 divisions. Currently, there are 9 undergarduate programs available. As of the spring term of the 2024 academic year, the student population has reached 2141. 

   Graduate education is carried out in 15 programs in our faculty. There are 14 departments offer master degree programs 10 of these departments offer master degree with thesis, 4 departments offer non-thesis master degree, 1 of them non-thesis master degree in distance education and 2 of them non-thesis master degree in evening education. In addition, doctoral programs are carried out in 5 departments.

  The mission of the Faculty of Education is to raise highly qualified individuals who are committed to Atatürk's principles and reforms and non-compromising from the laicism and the principles of the Republic, diligent, use their knowledge and experience for the sake of humanity, socially beneficial, think modern, creative and positive in the light of universal values, participatory, productive, represent their country all over the world with their own created values and also to contribute regional and national development and sustainable progress by providing a high level of scientific studies and research, to produce knowledge and technology and present them for the benefit of society.

Our Vision

   The visions of the Faculty of Education are as follows:

• To create a democratic learning environment in love and tolerance that centered on the individual, respectful of human rights and freedoms, and based on social peace and reconciliation.
• To be a respected faculty with superior academic standards in all aspects of our country.
• In the light of science, to contribute to the rise of our country to the level of modern civilization in the technological, economic and social field with the education and teaching and scientific research it will provide.
