Faculty of Education was established by decree 99/12444 dated 16.02.1999. In its establishment, 5 departments as “Primary Education”, “Educational Sciences”, “Foreign Language Education”, “Turkish Education” and “Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Department” were opened without students.
As a result of the studies jointly carried out by the Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of National Education, the Education Faculties have been restructured to train teachers of the quality and quantity required by the Ministry of National Education. In our faculty, together with the departments opened within the framework of this new structure, the number of open bachelor degree programs is 9 including a total of 9 departments and 26 related departments. As of the fall semester of the 2019 academic year, our student population has reached approximately 2450.
Graduate education is carried out in 6 programs in our faculty. There are 14 departments offer master degree programs 10 of these departments offer master degree with thesis, 4 departments offer non-thesis master degree, 1 of them non-thesis master degree in distance education and 2 of them non-thesis master degree in evening education. In addition, doctoral programs are carried out in 5 departments.
The mission of the Faculty of Education is to raise highly qualified individuals who are committed to Atatürk's principles and reforms and non-compromising from the laicism and the principles of the Republic, diligent, use their knowledge and experience for the sake of humanity, socially beneficial, think modern, creative and positive in the light of universal values, participatory, productive, represent their country all over the world with their own created values and also to contribute regional and national development and sustainable progress by providing a high level of scientific studies and research, to produce knowledge and technology and present them for the benefit of society.
The visions of the Faculty of Education are as follows:
To create a democratic learning environment in love and tolerance that centered on the individual, respectful of human rights and freedoms, and based on social peace and reconciliation.
To be a respected faculty with superior academic standards in all aspects of our country.
In the light of science, to contribute to the rise of our country to the level of modern civilization in the technological, economic and social field with the education and teaching and scientific research it will provide.
